Dr. Stephanie attended Concordia University Wisconsin and received her undergraduate degree in athletic training. Following graduation in 2008, she started her education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Stephanie graduation from Palmer College in October 2011. From there, she practiced out of state for a short time before moving back to her hometown of DeWitt.
In 2015, Dr. Stephanie started practicing in Cedar Rapids. It was during this time that she discovered her love of pediatric chiropractic. In 2017, she made the decision to further her education to specialize in pediatric chiropractic by beginning a program to obtain a post-doctorate degree in pediatrics. This program consists of over 360 hours of classroom and clinical time over a period of 2 1/2 years and requires a presentation of a professional research paper. This program is all-inclusive, covering prenatal through pregnancy, as well as children from newborns to teenagers. Each stage of pregnancy and a child's development are taught in-depth so the practicing doctor of chiropractic acquires greater skills and competencies in a wide range of evaluative, diagnostic, assessment and treatment procedures as well as advanced adjustment skills for different age groups, stages of development and needs and conditions. Included in the curriculum are expanded modules on radiology, nutrition, sports injuries, orthopedics, developmental and functional neurology, and special needs.
In June 2019, Dr. Stephanie completed the Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics program and became a board-certified pediatric chiropractor, in addition to also treating adult patients. Her research paper, Improvements in a 3-year-old girl diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder following a trial of chiropractic care: a case report, was published in the Journal of Chiropractic Pediatrics in November 2018. Two of Dr. Stephanie's greatest passions in chiropractic is working with kids on the spectrum of autism and helping new moms and their newborns be successful with breastfeeding.
In February 2021, Dr. Stephanie had the opportunity to join forces with Dr. Carol Miller and practice in DeWitt. She couldn't be more thrilled to work closer to home, especially with it being in her hometown! Dr. Stephanie is excited to serve the people, and children, in DeWitt.
Dr. Stephanie currently resides in DeWitt with her 2 sons, Noah (8), Austin (6) and their new kitten, Smokey. As a family, they enjoy watching and playing sports of all kinds. On any given day, you will see the family playing ball games in the yard. They enjoy cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Chicago Bears, and the Tennessee Titans. Dr. Stephanie is an avid walker, and enjoys cooking and baking, and loves to read, but doesn't have as much time to read as she used to!
